What is a Mamo?
The Mamos are not meant to be seen as all-knowing sages. Their role is to serve as messengers of nature—a bridge between the natural world and humanity.
They work through deep awareness, symbolic objects, dreams, water-based divination, and intuitive perception. Through these channels, they listen to nature and learn to understand its messages. Nature, in turn, responds to them.
Signs from the natural world—such as the behavior of birds or changes in the environment—are understood as messages. Some signals indicate harmony, while others show imbalance and the need for spiritual offerings or corrective practices. These acts are not transactional, but a way of restoring balance.
As spiritual authorities, the Mamos communicate with the forces of nature through prayer, meditation, music, and ritual practice. This communication requires knowledge, discipline, and humility. Nature listens not to commands, but to those who know how to ask with respect and understanding.

Mamo Cencio
Mamo Cencio is a Kogi spiritual leader from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. A botanist with deep knowledge of native plants, he teaches medicinal plant wisdom within the Kogi tradition and serves his people through ancestral medicine. He travels across Kogi territory to care for communities as a healer, counselor, and ceremonial leader.
Mamo Cencio is also a musician who plays Tayrona instruments and passes on ancestral songs of the Kogi Nation. He is entrusted with the sacred practice of Jatuquá, a water-based method of consultation with nature.
Zaga Josefina
Zagas are the female spiritual authorities within their tradition, carriers of ancestral wisdom and guardians of life’s transitions. Zaga Josefina was chosen through consultation (with nature) before her birth and began her training from infancy. She holds a central role in her community, guiding and educating girls and women through key rites of passage, including first menstruation, birth, and other sacred life moments.
As a spiritual leader, healer, and teacher, Zaga Josefina serves her people with deep care and wisdom. She officiates ceremonies marking unions, births, and deaths, and works with ancestral medicines and plants to support balance and protection. Through her presence, teachings, and ceremonial work, she helps preserve the living traditions entrusted to her for future generations.
About the Virtual Session
These sessions are centered on healing through conversation, reflection, and guided practices. Whether the consultation is done in person or remotely, the process remains the same. Distance does not limit the work when it is done through video or shared images; however, healing cannot be carried out using only a name, which is why sessions are held via video call.
During the consultation, we address spiritual or physical challenges through guidance, meditation, and personal practices. The healing is not only done during the session itself—participants are also given exercises and recommendations to continue the work in their own homes. This shared effort is an essential part of the process.
Through these sessions, we invite you to connect with the wisdom of the Sierra Nevada as a source of spiritual balance and clarity. Each consultation includes explanations, recommendations, and simple materials that can be used wherever you are. When done remotely, there is no separation—healing transcends physical distance. This is our invitation to all who feel called to receive guidance and restoration.
